New BenQ TK860i and W2710i 4K projectors arrive with HDR-PRO
BenQ has revealed two new home theater projectors, the TK860i and the W2710i, which will shortly launch in the EU. The TK860i is a 4K projector with up to 3,300 lumens brightness, covering 98% of the Rec .709 color space and using BenQ’s HDR-PRO technology for enhanced contrast. The BenQ W2710i is also a 4K projector with HDR technology and additional support for HDR10+. The device has a lower maximum brightness of 2,200 lumens and covers 95% DCI-P3 and 100% Rec. 709 color gamuts.
Both new BenQ projectors can throw images up to 150-in (~381 cm) wide, with support for 24 fps. The contrast of both models is further improved by Active Iris and Dynamic Black tools, and the projector uses Android TV, allowing you to use apps such as Netflix and Prime Video to stream content. You can also wirelessly cast content from a mobile device via Google Chromecast or control the gadget via Google Assistant voice commands.
The projectors have two integrated 5W treVolo speakers, and you can connect external speakers or other devices via a range of ports, including HDMI and USB. The projectors have a remote with hotkeys for services such as YouTube and Disney+. The BenQ TK860i and W2710i projectors will launch in May in the EU, retailing for €1,799 (~US$2,000). It is unclear when the gadgets could reach other markets.
