Dangbei Neo mini projector with native Netflix now available
Dangbei has unveiled the Neo, a 1080p mini projector. You can use the device to cast images from 37.5 to 120-in (~95 to 305 cm) wide with a 1.2:1 throw ratio and up to 540 ISO lumens (~675 ANSI lumens) brightness. The LED light source is expected to last for up to 30,000 hours. The projector covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color space and supports HDR10 and HLG formats.
With a ToF camera system, you can quickly perfect the image with auto focus, auto keystone correction and smart obstacle avoidance tools. Running on Linux OS, the device has been officially licensed by Netflix and comes with pre-installed apps like Prime Video and YouTube. It is worth noting that you cannot download apps from the Google Play store. With dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, you can wirelessly cast content via the Mirrorcast app. You can physically connect gadgets via HDMI ARC, USB 2.0 and S/PDIF ports. Plus, two built-in 6W speakers provide a surround sound experience with support for Dolby Audio.
The compact projector measures 7.87 x 6.18 x 3.94-in (~200 x 157 x 100 mm) and weighs 1.42 kg (~3.13 lbs), making it relatively easy to transport. It is worth noting that the device must be powered from an outlet. You can buy the Dangbei Neo Smart Projector in the US for US$699.99; customers at Amazon are currently offered a US$100 coupon, reducing the price to US$599.99. The new model, available in black or white, is launching in Europe on May 16. The device will retail for €749.99 or £699.99, with a similar coupon providing €50 or £50 off the typical retail price.
