BenQ has revealed the V5000i, an RGB laser ultra short throw TV projector. The new model has the BenQ HDR-PRO tool, supporting HDR10+ and HLG, alongside HDR Tone Mapping and Local Contrast Enhancer for a detailed image. The projector has up to 2,500 ANSI lumens brightness from its laser light source and covers 95% BT.2020 and 98% DCI-P3 color gamuts. With certified Android TV, you can stream content from popular platforms like Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu. Alongside support for 4K@120Hz, the ultra short throw device has a low input lag making it suitable for gaming. A built-in 40W Trevolo sound system is compatible with Dolby and DTS technologies, and you can connect further speakers or other gadgets via HDMI eARC, USB-A and S/PDIF ports. Plus, you can wirelessly connect devices via Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.
The ultra short throw V5000i, arriving in the US this July, can be paired with a 100-in (~254 cm) ALR Fresnel screen, with the bundle retailing for US$3,499. BenQ has yet to announce whether the projector will also land in Europe; reports suggest it could arrive later this year. BenQ also recently announced the HT4550i, HT3560 and TK860i models for the US, launching in late May.
