Case designs for the Galaxy Z Flip5 have started appearing online, roughly two months before Samsung is anticipated to announce its fifth-generation foldable. As expected, the Galaxy Z FLip5 has an unusual cover display, with a tabbed look that does not cover all the space available.

Apparently, Samsung will present new foldables slightly earlier this year, with the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 supposedly due in July. For context, Samsung announced their predecessors in August last year, as well as the Galaxy Watch5 series. Currently, Samsung is expected to bring the Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Galaxy Watch6 series to another Galaxy Unpacked event. While the company has not revealed any details about its next-generation foldables yet, it has hinted at the release of the Galaxy Watch6 series via a One UI 5 Watch press release.

In the meantime, case manufacturers have started listing Galaxy Z Flip5 cases online. Typically, these companies receive CAD images and dimensions around which they can build a case design, a few examples of which we have embedded below. It is worth stressing that these manufacturers could have based their designs around renders shared by @OnLeaks, although that does not appear to be the case with those pictured below.

Regardless, the clear case design provides a first look of sorts at Samsung's new tabbed cover display design, with Samsung refraining from adopting Motorola's approaches on the Razr 2022 or the forthcoming Razr 40 Ultra. The latter may not have any more usable cover display space than the former though, because of its three cutouts for cameras and an LED flash. The Galaxy Z Flip5 is rumoured to offer significantly better performance than the Razr 40 Ultra too, thanks to the former's reliance on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset. In comparison, recent leaks suggest that the Razr 40 Ultra will make do with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 on which Motorola also based its predecessor.
