Google Pixel Tablet: Retailer leak confirms more specifications and availability for new tablet
Amazon has revealed more details about the Pixel Tablet, having showcased the tablet's Standalone Charging Dock last month on its US website. Now, the retailer listed the Pixel Tablet itself on its Japanese website. Amazon has since taken down the listing, although it is preserved on the Wayback Machine. For reference, Google will finally release the Pixel Tablet on May 10, a year after teasing the tablet at I/O 2022. Presumably, Pixel Tablet pre-orders will open shortly after Google finishes its I/O 2023 keynote, during which it is also expected to present at least the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold.
As the images below show, the Pixel Tablet relies on a Google Tensor G2 chipset, along with LPDDR5 RAM and a 27 Wh battery. Reportedly, the modest battery should deliver up to 12 hours of usage between charges; manufacturer's battery life estimates tend to be wide of real-world usage, though. Moreover, Google will sell the Pixel Tablet with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, but only with 8 GB of RAM.
Elsewhere, the Pixel Tablet has a 10.95-inch IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. According to Amazon Japan, the display operates natively at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with 500 nits peak brightness and USI 2.0 pen support. Furthermore, the tablet has twin 8 MP cameras, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, UWB support, quad speakers and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. While Amazon Japan listed the 128 GB model for JPY 79,800 (~US$592), WinFuture asserts that the tablet will retail for roughly €680 in the Eurozone with a charging dock thrown in.
