Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: Future Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 alternative shown in press shots
The Razr 40 Ultra is almost upon us, with Motorola expected to announce its new foldable flagship on June 1 globally. For reference, the company also appears to have developed the Razr 40, renders of which leaked last week. Although it has been clear what the Razr 40 Ultra looks like for a while now, the foldable has only been seen from select angles.
Now, Evan Blass has shared product renders of the Razr 40 Ultra in which all sides of the device are visible. As expected, Motorola intends to offer the foldable in three colour options; an earlier leak suggested that Motorola had called these colours Glacier Blue, Phantom Black and Viva Magenta. As far as we can tell, Viva Magenta is the device's sole vegan leather representative, unlike the Edge 40. Additionally, all colours have matching frames. However, the Razr 40 Ultra has black bezels surrounding its cover display, unlike the cheaper Razr 40.
The Razr 40 Ultra will be one of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5's main rivals when the latter arrives this summer. Arguably, Motorola's decision to include a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset makes the Razr 40 Ultra more of a Galaxy Z Flip4 competitor though, which features the same silicon. Still, the Razr 40 Ultra could start at nearly €1,200 including taxes, despite it similarities with the current Razr 2022.
