Deal | Grab the Motorola Razr 22 at 25% off retail price for a limited time
Despite its pioneering ultra-high-res main display - especially for its class of smartphone - the Motorola Razr 22 received a muted reception on its global debut, possibly due to starting costs equally hard to keep track of. However, Motorola has now addressed this with a new "special price" for the 2022 flagship.
It is available directly through Motorola online - albeit in Europe only, unfortunately, as the OEM does not stock the Razr 22 itself in either India or North America (and is out of stock in the UK). The deal cuts the clamshell's original price by 25% to €899.99 (~US$969) - the same price at which the new Razr 40 has been announced.
The 40 could be described as a compromised version of the Razr 22, with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC in place of the 8+ Gen 1, and a strip of secondary display rather than the one on which the upgraded front AMOLED panel of the up-to-165Hz Razr+/40 Ultra is based (both 2023 models do finally come in a greater range of colors, at least).
Accordingly, and ironically, this may be the 22's time to shine in terms of being the better deal for some consumers, especially as it is offered with the same 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage as the newer Razr 40.
On that note, the former does have a (potentially more future-proof) 12GB RAM version that is available in Europe through TradingShenzhen - and at around the same price at the time of writing, too: €897, albeit with the OS from its original Chinese launch with the Play Store installed on top of it.
