Samsung confirms location, rough date and device highlights of new Galaxy Unpacked event
Samsung has announced initial details about its next Galaxy Unpacked event, confirming earlier rumours. As expected, the company will host the showcase in Seoul, with previous events occurring in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, London and New York. According to Samsung, it chose Seoul 'because of its role in influencing global trends with its dynamic culture and innovation'. Specifically, the event will take place at the COEX convention centre in Samseong-dong, a neighbourhood of Gangnam-gu in Seoul.
In a press release, Samsung has only committed to unveiling 'its next generation foldable devices' so far. However, it is rumoured to reveal at least the Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5 and the Galaxy Watch6 series. Incidentally, the FCC recently published initial documentation for the latter, with the regulatory body confirming SM-R930, SM-R935, SM-R940 and SM-R945 model numbers. These are all regular Galaxy Watch6 variants though; more expensive models will arrive under SM-R95x and SM-R96x model numbers.
Currently, Samsung is anticipated to have scheduled this summer's Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26. Samsung is being coy about providing an exact date for now and has only revealed that it will happen 'in the last week of July'. COEX has not provided any further details either, with no date shown in its event calendar yet.
