Rumor | Samsung Galaxy S23-series users to get first taste of One UI 6.0 by end of July 2023
Samsung is now once again said to grace its latest flagship smartphones with a preview of its newest software a couple of weeks early in 2023 compared to 2022. One UI 6.0 Beta 1 is now backed to land in "the third quarter" of this year. It is projected to support Samsung apps optimized for Android 14, and may be another sign of an early launch for devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold5.
Google's latest advance preview version of Android 14 - its third beta for Pixel smartphones - is thought to be the first one to boast "Platform Stability". Accordingly, Samsung bloggers now hold forth that this is a new sign that Samsung is ready to release its own first beta of One UI based on the major OS upgrade.
The OEM has been observed to bake One UI 6 compatibility into updates for some of its first-party apps, thereby inviting speculation that a new beta program for up-to-date flagship smartphones is on the way. It is tipped to reach the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra by the third week of July 2023.
By contrast, the S22 series saw its first One UI 5 beta in the first week of August 2022. Samsung's apparently accelerated software development plans might also dovetail nicely with a comparatively early Galaxy Unpacked event in late July 2023. In the meantime, interested S23-series users could get ready for the possible inaugural Android 14 beta by checking their Samsung Members app for relevant updates.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
