Released on August 27, 2021, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-powered Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 was rebranded as "Galaxy Fold 3" in some European markets due to the connection between the letter Z and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This foldable handset arrived with Android 11-based One UI 3.1.1 onboard, which was then upgraded to Android 12 and One UI 4. Now, the third major Android update for it is already rolling out.
The Android 13/One UI 5.0 firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was tested in India for a few weeks last month, alongside the same software refresh for the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Although other markets are still waiting for it, the stable Android 13/One UI 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now rolling out in Europe.
The firmware version number of the update is F926BXXU2DVK3. The update package includes the November 2022 security patch. Since Samsung tested the beta alongside the one for the Galaxy Z Flip 3, it is not surprising to see it receive the update as well. The firmware version is, in this case, F711BXXU3DVK3.
As it usually happens with such updates that have barely become available and need time to become widely available, those still waiting for the update notification to show up can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
