Samsung continues to expand eligibility for its One UI 5 update. Earlier this week, the company released stable One UI 5 builds for the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series, as we discussed at the time. For reference, the company outlined plans to update numerous other models to the Android 13-based update this month, which it confirmed at the start of November.
Now, the first stable One UI 5 updates have arrived for five other smartphones. Specifically, the company has started rolling out updates for the Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4. As always with Samsung's OS updates, it could take a few days before One UI 5 reaches your newly eligible handset. For example, Samsung appears to have started updating Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 handsets bought in the US and enrolled in the One UI 5 beta program. For reference, the Android 13-based update should arrive for both devices with a firmware version that ends in 'BVK3'.
Meanwhile, One UI 5 has arrived for the Galaxy A33 5G first in Europe, where it carries the firmware version 'A336BXXU4BVJG'. Similarly, the Android 13-based update has landed in Europe for the Galaxy A53 5G as 'A536BXXU4BVJG'. By contrast, the Galaxy A73 5G has received One UI 5 as 'A736BXXU2BVK2' in Malaysia. With all devices, you can check whether your device is ready to install One UI 5 by heading to Settings, Software update and Download and install. Currently, Samsung hopes to finish its One UI 5 rollout by February 2023.
