Samsung is now accelerating its One UI 5 release schedule, having started updating the Galaxy Tab S8 series to the new OS earlier this week. The Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G have already received One UI 5 in certain markets too, as well as recent flagships like the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 series. Based on Samsung’s original estimates, the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 should start receiving the Android 13-based update this month too, albeit perhaps not globally.
However, Samsung is now distributing equivalent updates to the Galaxy XCover6 Pro, Galaxy M32 5G and Galaxy M52 5G, a trio that were slated to see One UI 5 in December. According to SamMobile, Samsung has released the updates in several European countries so far, with other regions likely to become eligible within the next few days. Unfortunately, Samsung does not provide exact release windows for all regions.
The three updates will all arrive with the November 2022 set of Android security patches. Additionally, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro, Galaxy M32 5G and Galaxy M52 5G will receive the same version of One UI 5 as other Samsung devices. In other words, the Android 13-based update will bring greater colour customisation options to One UI, along with OCR functionality within the stock camera app, improved animations and a revised notification shade. You can find more details about what changes Samsung has made with One UI 5 in the video below and which other devices the company plans to upgrade to Android 13 in our associated article.
