Samsung is now updating the Galaxy Tab S8 series to One UI 5, a few days after the company released equivalent updates for the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4. Incidentally, Samsung has already released One UI 5 to the three most recent generations of the Galaxy S series, as well as the Galaxy Note 20 series and a smattering of mid-range handsets. Based on Samsung's European rollout schedule, the Galaxy Tab S7 series could be up next for One UI 5, with the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 in line for the same update later this month too.
For example, while One UI 5 landed in the US last week for the Galaxy Z Flip4, Samsung has not issued a corresponding update for the same smartphone yet in the UK. As always, Samsung will issue One UI 5 gradually across the markets in which the Galaxy Tab S8 series is available. Currently, SamMobile has confirmed that the updates have reached Europe, where they have arrived as:
- Galaxy Tab S8 - X706BXXU2BVK4
- Galaxy Tab S8 Plus - X806BXXU2BVK4
- Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra - X906BXXU2BVK4
For reference, these updates are for 5G models; presumably, LTE models will get the call-up to One UI 5 within the next few days. In short, the Galaxy Tab S8 series should receive the same feature set as the likes of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Hence, the update will bring DeX revisions to the Galaxy Tab trio, along with reworked animations, a per-app language switcher and new multitasking gestures. Samsung has revised other features too, some of which it explained last month.
