ZTE launched an especially top-end Aerospace Edition of its Axon 30 Ultra flagship smartphone in 2021. Now, it has hinted at the same for that device's successor, the 40 Ultra. The upcoming Special Edition stands a good chance at even more RAM in addition to a cutting-edge under-display camera (UDC) OLED screen.

The Axon 40 Ultra already has a third-gen UDC screen to grace the most Galaxy S22 Ultra-like smartphone design since the...S22 Ultra. Now, it also has just crossed the final 2022 flagship smartphone milestone with its own super-premium special edition.

Its immediate predecessor the Axon 30 Ultra Aerospace Edition had up to 18GB of RAM, albeit with the slightly underwhelming omission of its own UDC panel. However, the 40 Ultra might finally be able to combine those specs when it takes over in 2022.

ZTE has yet to issue anything like an official 40 Ultra Aerospace Edition launch announcement, however. Nevertheless, the company's CEO Ni Fei may have that covered with a fresh new Weibo teaser.

With its on-location photos from this year's Zhuhai Airshow, complete with new branded watermarks and hashtags, it could not be more on the nose. Therefore, it looks like the OEM's second limited edition of November 2022 is indeed on the way.
