While the Poco X6 series is set to launch globally this week, the more popular and premium Poco F6 still looks to be quite a ways off, with a new leak now providing some insight into when the next-gen sub-premium phone will arrive, and some of its specs.
As revealed by leaker Kartikey Singh, the Poco F6 is months away. Five months away, to be exact, which would indicate a global launch event in June or thereabouts. The Poco F5 debuted in May last year, for example. Supposedly, the Poco F6 will arrive on global markets as a rebadge of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo—which is, in turn, expected to launch a month earlier in China.
While the leak fails to detail the smartphone, it does claim the presence of a Snapdragon 8-series SoC beneath the hood, and an AnTuTu total score north of 1.5 million. Said chipset could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, or maybe even the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Last year's Poco F5 featured the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 which performs in the same ballpark as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, so a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would represent a solid generational performance upgrade. Other touted specs include UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM—again emphasizing the Poco F6's performance levels, and a 1.5K display with narrow bezels.
