Qualcomm's next chipset is expected to be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Internally coded as SM8635, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2's successor is tipped to launch as the most powerful sub-premium chipset on the market, and could power the much-awaited Poco F6.

Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 last year, with the sub-premium chipset delivering flagship-esque performance thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 heritage. The successor to that chipset looks to be on its way, and a new leak now hypes up its performance credentials.

As revealed by Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will continue on the course set by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 by bringing flagship-grade performance to the mid-range segment. Like its predecessor, it will be based on the current-gen premium Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That indicates the same architecture, implying a Cortex-X4 and similar core configuration across the board, albeit likely at lower frequencies.

With that in mind, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3—internally numbered as SM7675—can be expected to deliver performance better than last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but worse than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. On the CPU side, at least. GPU performance will likely be another tier lower, perhaps on a similar level to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The source claims it outperforms every other chipset in that segment on AnTuTu, which indicates superiority over the Dimensity 8300, the current sub-premium champion.

According to the leak, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is tentatively scheduled to launch in March. That's also when the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 debuted last year. Like that chipset, it will likely make its way into a Xiaomi device, expected to be the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, which is already rumored to launch as the Poco F6 globally later on.
