The KEF LSX II LT speakers have been announced as a cheaper follow-up to the LSX II. The new model supports wireless streaming from various services, with physical connections made possible thanks to ports including HDMI (ARC). At the time of writing, KEF Members can place an early order, with the product going on general sale before the end of the month.

KEF has unveiled the LSX II LT Wi-Fi Hi-Fi speakers. The new model is a cheaper version of the award-winning LSX II, launched in 2022, with many of the same features. For example, both devices use a Uni-Q driver with a 19 mm aluminum tweeter and a 115 mm magnesium and aluminum alloy diaphragm.

Each of the LSX II LT speakers’ class D amplifiers has a total output of 100W, generating up to 102 dB volume (maximum sound pressure level measured at 1m). The product offers streaming with up to 384 kHz/24-bit resolution and a frequency range of 49 Hz to 47 kHz. Plus, you can wirelessly connect a device using Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast or Bluetooth 5.0; supported streaming services include Spotify (Connect), Tidal (Connect) and Amazon Music. Alternatively, you can physically connect gadgets via HDMI (ARC), USB-C and TOSLINK optical ports. Compared to the original model, the missing features are Roon Ready certification, a 3.5mm audio jack and compatibility with MQA audio.

The two speakers must be connected via USB-C, whereas the older devices could be connected wirelessly. You can choose from Sage Green, Graphite Grey and Stone White colorways, with each speaker measuring 240 x 144 x 180 mm (~9.4 x 5.7 x 7.1-in). MyKEF members can now pre-order the KEF LSX II LT speakers for $999.99/ €999, with a wider launch planned for January 25th. For comparison, the KEF LSX II retails for $1,299.99/€1,399, making the new model $300/€400 cheaper.
