Xiaomi Redmi Buds 5 Pro makes global appearance with ANC and high-resolution audio features for budget starting price
Xiaomi has now brought the Redmi Buds 5 Pro to international audiences, nearly two months after the earbuds' original release in China. For reference, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro joins the Redmi Buds 5 and Redmi Watch 4 during today's Redmi Note 13 series 'premier launch event'. As for the Redmi Note 13 series, Xiaomi has added the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G to the Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G.
In summary, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro features unchanged hardware from its late-November release. Thus, the earbuds combine an 11 mm titanium woofer and a 10 mm ceramic tweeter with Hi-Res Audio and LDAC audio support. As a result, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro delivers a 24-bit and 96 kHz sampling rate, which it augments with the Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec (LHDC) 5.0 high-resolution codec. However, Xiaomi has decided against offering the Redmi Buds 5 Pro Esports variant, which combines a two-tone colourway with a USB receiver that reduces latency from 49 ms to 20 ms.
Additionally, the earbuds attenuate background noise by up to 52 dB via built-in active noise cancellation (ANC). By contrast, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro (curr. $75.50 on Amazon) only reduces background noise by 43 dB. On top of that, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro integrates an 'AI Adaptive Mode' that automatically selects ANC settings based on current ambient noise. The Redmi Buds 5 Pro is available in multiple markets in Aurora Purple, Midnight Black and Moonlight White colour options, with pricing set at €69.99 in the Eurozone.
