A Pro version of the aptX Lossless-capable Xiaomi Buds 5 is on the way - according to the blog Svět Androida, whose renders on the subject have been validated by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.
The images suggest that the upcoming earbuds will look almost exactly like the AirPod-style Buds 5, with touch-responsive controls on slightly curved stems, round cut-outs on the inside for ANC and a case with a unique flip-up lid, albeit in white or silver only as opposed to other options such as black and light blue.
However, the "Buds 5 Pro" (not to be confused with the Redmi Buds 5 Pro available on Amazon) are now linked to "significantly" improved battery capacity per earphone: 54mAh, compared to 35mAh in the Buds 5.
Svět Androida also asserts that Xiaomi will market the 5 Pros as its most "intelligent" earbuds yet, with Smart BASS and Smart LEVELER features for its Harman-branded AudioEFX tweaks, the latter of which is vaguely described as an adaptive volume mode.
Digital Chat Station has also hinted that the Buds 5 Pro might have Wi-Fi connectivity in addition to the industry's standard Bluetooth wireless technology.
There is no word on when the "Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro" might launch, although they are projected to cost about $145 (or ~3,500 Czechian koruna) on their debut.
