Small form-factor PC enthusiasts who appreciate mini PCs will likely be pleased to note that the impressive Minisforum Venus UM790 Pro mini PC is currently available for an all-time low price of just $536 on Amazon, courtesy of an ongoing limited-time sale. The product's barebones variant has also been discounted to a record-low price of just $376, also on Amazon.
Our in-depth review of the Minisforum UM790 Pro mini PC paints a positive picture, with little room for complaint. The 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 9 7940HS APU boasts plenty of computing horsepower to chew through the vast majority of workloads, and the RDNA 3-based Radeon 780M iGPU, while no match for a discrete GPU, packs sufficient grunt for occasional lightweight gaming sessions and non-intensive workloads. The system comes equipped with 32 GB of DDR5 memory, which can be upgraded down the line thanks to its dual SODIMM slots that are relatively easy to access.
The same applies to the 1 TB of storage which can be upgraded via the dual M.2 2280 slots. The ports selection is pretty decent as well, including dual USB4, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, audio jack, and 2.5G Ethernet ports. We would have liked an SD card slot as well, which is unfortunately missing. Wireless networking, on the other hand, is taken care of by WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. All told, the Minisforum UM790 Pro mini PC boasts commendable value at its current sale price on Amazon for those on the market for a decently equipped mini PC.
