For a sizeable chunk of PC users with moderate performance demands, a mini PC can serve their needs rather well. Thanks to their diminutive form factor, mini PCs do not require nearly as much desk space as full or even mid-towers, allowing the space to be put to better use. The Ryzen 7-powered GMKTec NucBox K8 Plus is one such potent mini PC with a commendable feature set, and is now available for an all-time low price of just $522.49 on Amazon courtesy of an ongoing sale and an additional 5% coupon.

The NucBox K8 Plus mini PC is powered by the 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS APU, paired with 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and 1 TB of storage. Both the SSD and RAM are user-upgradeable - the K8 Plus can accommodate up to 96 GB of RAM thanks to dual SODIMM slots, and up to 8 TB of SSD storage thanks to dual M.2 2280 slots. The Ryzen 7 APU roughly matches the recently launched Intel Core Ultra 9 285H CPU in multi-core performance, which makes it plenty performant for the vast majority of workloads.

Of course, like most mini PCs, the GMKtec K8 Plus lacks the comfort of discrete graphics, although the integrated Radeon 780M iGPU is no small fry, packing enough compute power to trade blows with an Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q discrete GPU. Lightweight gaming at 1080p and casual video editing should not be much of a hassle for the APU, although expecting anything more will likely prove futile.
