It is no secret that Sony has new consumer audio equipment in the works. To recap, the company has been spotted preparing the WF-C710N and WH-1000XM6 in the last few weeks. Based on the information that has emerged so far, it seems that the WF-C710N will officially launch before Sony replaces the WH-1000XM5 (curr. $328 on Amazon).
Potentially, the company may introduce refreshes of both the WH-CH520 and WH-CH720N in advance of the WH-1000XM6 too. For reference, no retail images of the WH-1000XM6 have surfaced yet. By contrast, The Walkman Blog has now shared photos of unreleased WH-CH520 and WH-CH720N photos online, which we have reproduced throughout.
To date, Sony has been offering the WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 in four and three colour options, respectively. According to The Walkman Blog, that will soon change to four for the WH-CH720N but six for the cheaper WH-CH520. Specifically, Sony plans to sell both in a fresh pink colour, which looks lighter than the Smoky Pink finish in which the WF-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM5 were refreshed last year.
On top of that, the WH-CH520 will receive a light yellow option that the WH-CH720N misses out on. A launch timeline or pricing has not emerged yet. With that being said, the appearance of official-looking product images indicates that these refreshes are on the cusp of being released, unlike the WH-1000XM6.
