The Hollyland Lark M2 has a new competitor, and one that seems at least as unobtrusive with a button-style transmitter - one that looks much more metallic than plastic and with much lower-key branding to boot.
The T5 Wave is also rated to record 48kHz/24bit audio, with the slightly better maximum sound pressure level (SPL) and signal-to-noise ratio of the 2 at 120 and 80 decibels (dB) respectively.
Then again, Maono's new lapel mic for creators is rated for 30 hours of battery life thanks to its TWS earbud-style case, compared to up to 40 in the Lark M2.
The T5 Wave is backed to deliver a "professional" level of "intelligent" noise cancellation that can apparently be fine-tuned with 14 stages and 3 different modes, not to mention voice filters developed to enhance qualities such as "warmth" or "brightness" as required.
Its transmitters are rated to stay connected to a receiver even when they are up to 1,000 feet (or ~300 meters) apart. The T5 Wave can be bundled with 3 different receiver types: 1 for mobile devices with USB-C; 1 for iPhones of the 14 series or older and 1 with a TRS 3.5mm jack for cameras or PCs. The first 2 come with handy second ports for pass-through charging.
Maono has released the T5 Wave with 2 transmitters and those 3 receivers to Amazon at a recommended price of $149.99 - although it is discounted to $109 (thereby undercutting the corresponding Lark M2 SKU at $119) for now.
