Baseus has gone open-ear with its latest Bowie-series earbuds, opting for the cartilage-clip form-factor rather than the ear-hook design in the new MC1s.
They have launched for considerably less than the Bose Ultra Opens, yet boast a touch-sensitive button that is customizable to boot.
The MC1s look more like Huawei's FreeClips, though, and are similarly backed to stay on the ear thanks to a proprietary Cloud Airbag design backed to help them stay in place even as they move with the user for "adaptive" comfort.
Their Voice Capture noise reduction for calls is also hyped to be similarly flexible and responsive thanks to the Baseus DNN Adaptive Noise Reduction Algorithms that augment their dual mics, although they obviously don't support true ANC.
Nevertheless, Baseus asserts that its new open-ear buds can avoid sound leakage and boost the reproduction of deeper tones using more adaptation in their AI.
The Bluetooth 5.4-equipped MC1s have been released to Amazon in black or white at an introductory rate of just $49.99 (thanks to a $20 coupon), as opposed to $229 for the Bose Ultra Opens today (February 20, 2025).
