While the Sony WF-1000XM5 is still some time away from launch, competition in the high-end TWS earbuds market got a lot more intense. Xiaomi has finally made its premium Buds 4 Pro TWS earbuds available for global audiences, with prices starting at €249.99. This is remarkably higher than its Chinese price of 999 yuan (US$150).
The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro support various levels of ANC (active noise cancellation) for sounds up to 48 dB2 and head tracking via the Dimensional Audio function. Xiaomi claims it can last up to 9 hours on a single charge (38 hours with the case) with ANC switched off. One can charge the case with a cable and wirelessly. Users can also connect their Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro to two devices simultaneously.
It can play back content at 990 kbps with a bit depth of up to 32 bits. Furthermore, Xiaomi's "Intelligent Fit Monitoring" optimizes the sound based on users' ear shape. Lastly, touch-sensitive pads on the earbuds can be mapped to perform various tasks. One has to install the companion Xiaomi Earbuds app to take advantage of the earphones' many features.
