Launched at the end of last month, the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 5 Pro is a proper successor to the Redmi Buds 4 Pro (curr. US$79 on Amazon). While it is already great for gaming, Xiaomi wanted to take things to the next level. And that’s basically where the Redmi Buds 5 Pro eSports edition steps in.
Among the main highlights, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro gaming edition features a sleek orange and black color scheme. But it isn’t just the looks that make the wireless earbuds focus on competitive gamers. The eSports edition also bundles with a USB-C dongle that can deliver wireless latency as low as 20 ms.
In addition, the USB-C dongle of the eSports edition brings LDHC Lossless audio, which will allow the users to enjoy high-resolution wireless playback. And for those wondering, the Buds 5 Pro gaming edition packs a 10 mm piezoelectric ceramic tweeter paired with an 11 mm titanium-plated dynamic coil subwoofer.
Xiaomi says that this robust setup of the Redmi Buds 5 Pro eSports edition has earned audio certifications that are “rare in the industry.” These include “Zhenpin Space Audio” and “Zhenpin Master Tape” certifications from QQ Music.
Moreover, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro gaming edition has a competitive pricing. It is currently on sale in China for CNY499, around US$70. To compare, gaming earbuds with low-latency dongles usually have a regular price of around US$100 and more (EPOS GTW 270 curr. US$117.99 on Amazon).
