Final Audio has announced a follow-up to the ZE8000 (curr. $236 on Amazon), a pair of earbuds that it announced in February. Unsurprisingly, the company has not delivered a completely new set of drivers in the intervening period. Instead, it claims that the ZE8000 MK2 are an 'evolution of '8K Sound''.
In real terms, this appears to mean that the ZE8000 MK2 peaks at 5 dB higher than its predecessor. However, Final Audio still does not state the maximum volume of the ZE8000 on its product page, somewhat limiting its claim with the ZE8000 MK2. Additionally, Final Audio states that it has improved sound quality through signal processing and design optimisations.
Specifically, the company alleges that the ZE8000 MK2 offers 32% better noise cancellation, which SoundGuys considered 'lacklustre' in its review of the ZE8000. Moreover, Final Audio has added Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity, although Qualcomm aptX Adaptive remains for 24-bit audio at 96 kHz compressed to 420 kbit/s. Battery life remains unchanged at five hours, with 1:30 hours needed for a full charge. Final Audio will start selling the ZE8000 MK2 soon for €329 in the Eurozone, $399.99 in the US and £289 in the UK.
