OnePlus Buds 3 leak via FCC as upcoming TWS accessories
Any doubt that OnePlus would produce successors for its current audio flagships may now be gone for good, as the OEM has been caught in the act of registering new TWS earbuds with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The certification has been found not merely to reveal the accessories' new model number (E509A), but that they will indeed be called the Buds 3 in one of their new regulatory images.
The new peripherals even look much like the Buds Pro 2 (or 2R) - and even have nearly the exact same specs, according to a new OnLeaks x MySmartPrice tip - right down to the 48 decibel (dB) active noise cancellation (ANC), Bluetooth 5.3 and 520mAh battery capacity for a total up-time of up to 33 hours.
Accordingly, it is hard to see how the third-gen Buds will distinguish themselves at launch - then again, they would be the first ever vanilla versions of their line, a detail possibly implying that more significant upgrades are in store for the putative Buds Pro 3. In the meantime, their real-life predecessors are still on sale ahead of Cyber Monday on Amazon.
