OnePlus has announced the launch of a new pair of TWS earbuds, the Buds Pro 2 Light Edition. As its name suggests, the Buds Pro 2 Light Edition are a spin-off of the regular Buds Pro 2. The pair look confusingly similar, but the Light Edition only comes in white and black colourways. For some reason, the green edition in which the Buds Pro 2 are available has not made its way to the Lite Edition.
According to OnePlus, the Lite Edition features 11 mm primary drivers and 6 mm tweeters that deliver a frequency range of 10 Hz-40 kHz. Additionally, the earbuds support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, as well as AAC, LC3, LHDC and SBC Bluetooth codecs. Again, Hans Zimmer is said to have optimised the Lite Edition for optimal sound quality. Moreover, the earbuds offer ANC that attenuates background noise by 48 dB and delivers 54 ms latency.
Supposedly, the earbuds will last up to 6 hours between charges with ANC on or 9 hours with the feature disabled. OnePlus states that the bundled charging case should be good for 3 complete charges too, before it needs topping up. The Lite Edition lacks wireless charging integration and head tracking but retains 3D Audio from the Buds Pro 2. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 Lite Edition retails for CNY 799 (~US$115) in China; it remains to be seen whether OnePlus will sell the earbuds in other markets, though.
