OnePlus Nord 3: MediaTek Dimensity 9000 powered smartphone slated for a mid-2023 launch
The soon-to-be-announced OnePlus Nord 3 has been in the limelight for quite some time. Rumours about its specifications are all over the place, with one report suggesting it would pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max, while another said it would opt for a Dimensity 8200 instead. However, MySmartPrice, in collaboration with @OnLeaks, says both of the aforementioned predictions are wrong.
MySmartPrice's report says the OnePlus Nord 3 will use a flagship-tier Dimensity 9000 SoC from MediaTek, making it quite the powerhouse, especially compared to its remarkably more expensive Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-toting cousins such as the OnePlus 10 Pro.
While the OnePlus Nord 3 heavily skimps on the cameras (50 MP primary + 8 MP ultra-wide-angle + 2 MP macro/depth + 16 MP selfie), the TSMC-made Dimensity 9000 should deliver a buttery-smooth user experience and even allow for some heavy-duty gaming.
Other OnePlus Nord 3 specs include a 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED screen, up to 16 GB memory and 256 GB storage. Its 5,000 mAh battery is rumoured to support 80 Watt SuperVOOC charging, 20 Watts lower than the initial estimate of 100 Watts.
There seems to be plenty of conflicting information about the OnePlus Nord 3 going about, so it's best to treat all of it with scepticism. OnePlus should ideally unveil the smartphone sometime in June/July 2023. While a US$250 price tag would be ideal, US$300 seems more realistic, given the current market state and the likely cost increase due to the flagship MediaTek chipset.
