The Dimensity 9200 is one of the most powerful processors for smartphones or tablets on the market right now. However, its maker MediaTek is now tipped to supersede it with an updated version already. OnePlus and OPPO may be among the first brands to release mobile devices with this alleged Plus variant.

MediaTek has had an unusual, and unusually advantageous, relationship with OPPO and its 'co-brand' OnePlus as of late, as recently observed by the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS). The chip-maker has managed to get its highest-end SoCs into some of the most advanced and/or unique devices released by either company as of late.

They have, moreover, made it onto international markets, whereas most hardware with the competitive Dimensity 9xxx-series platforms has had a hard time doing the same. Then again, there is no indication that the new OnePlus Ace 2V will be next to reach a global audience as yet.

That might be a shame for its Dimensity 9000 chipset, particularly as, according to DCS, it will be the last to launch as a new device with the processor. It may be utterly pushed aside by a new flagship update soon, in any case.

Judging by that allegedly upcoming SoC's predecessor, we might be in a position to expect a mild upgrade on the current top-end offering from MediaTek soon. Then again, this will give the putative 9200+ some big shoes to fill, slated to supplant the world's first ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU-powered mobile flagship-grade silicon as it now is.
