OnePlus Buds Pro 3 tipped to launch with mildly upgraded wireless audio specs for more money
OnePlus' earbud charging cases typically look as though they are at no risk whatsoever of rolling off a table - however, that is allegedly set to change in the upcoming Buds Pro 3. They have allegedly been shown in 2 colors thus far, to be called Lunar Radiance (cream and silver) and Midnight Opus (two-tone black), according to the leakers at SmartPrix.
The blog also claims to that the new case will also be heavier than its predecessor at 61 grams (g) in mass. The delta might suggest a significant change in battery capacity; however, the Buds Pro 3 are now estimated to last 43 hours per charge at most: 1 hour less than the vanilla Buds 3 and just 4 more than the Pro 2s.
Similarly, the Pro 3s are now slated to launch as earphones with LHDC 5.0 support and dual 6mm/11mm drivers - just like the 2nd-gen Pros and their own vanilla counterparts. OnePlus' upcoming audio flagships are also tipped to debut with 50-decibel (dB) ANC, as opposed to 49dB in the Buds 3 and 48dB in the Buds Pro 2.
Then again, the Buds Pro 3 might also have the latest tuning and EQ developed in partnership with Dynaudio, not to mention dual DACs and updated Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. SmartPrix claims to have gleaned all these details from a prematurely-posted Amazon listing.
If so, the page is no longer available, and also apparently failed to include a price for the new earbuds in any case. However, Max Jambor is back with a new claim that the Buds Pro 3 will cost €199 in Europe - €20 more than OnePlus' second-gen flagship wireless earbuds on their 2023 debut.
Accordingly, the Buds Pro 3 just might be heading toward a similar hike to $199 in the US, as their predecessors were $179 on their release to Amazon (where they are discounted by 19% right now).
