OnePlus Ace 5 launch window and upgrades outlined in new leak
OnePlus' first Android smartphone with an enlarged 5,500mAh battery debuted as the Ace 3 in China prior to its re-brand as the 12R (currently available for $599.99 on Amazon) for the international market - however, according to prolific leaker Digital Chat Station, its successor will launch as the Ace 5.
It might appear before the end of 2024 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rather than the 8 Gen 2 of the Ace 3/12R, while its Pro counterpart is now vaguely backed to move on to the next-gen 8 Gen 4.
Both devices might have up-to-date silicon anode batteries, which might be at least 5,500mAh in capacity for the vanilla Ace 5 again, while the 5 Pro might either maintain or improve on the 6,100mAh upgrade of its predecessor.
On that note, Digital Chat Station also now hints that the Ace 5, 5 Pro or both will be similar in terms of configuration to the Ace 3 Pro, a smartphone with up to 24GB of RAM and rear panels finished in choices of ceramic or vegan leather as well as toughened glass.
