OnePlus touts upcoming premium smartphone as inaugural Glacier Battery device
OnePlus has now confirmed that the Ace 3 Pro will launch as its inaugural 6,100mAh device. The smartphone owes its unprecedented typical capacity spec (its rated capacity might be closer to 5,700mAh) to new Glacier Battery technology.
OnePlus has collaborated with EV battery giant Ningde Amperex/CATL to confer an "industry-leading" energy density of 763 watt-hours per liter (Wh/l) (or 426mAh per gram) on the Ace 3 Pro's silicon-carbon battery. On that note, it is also now touted to have the industry's "highest silicon content" at 6%.
Then again, it is also now slated to use the same 100W SuperVOOC charger as the OnePlus 12 (currently starting at $699 on Amazon).
The Ace 3 Pro is said to be the first in a new line of top-end Glacier Battery devices, each of which might come with the potential to retain 80% of its original capacity even after 4 years of regular use.
The smartphone is slated to be unleashed on the Chinese market alongside the Pad Pro and a OnePlus' latest Watch (not even the one you might be thinking of) on June 27, 2024.
