Magic6 RSR: Honor releases new Porsche Design smartphone globally with silicon carbon battery technology and 24 GB of RAM
A few weeks have passed since Honor debuted the Magic6 RSR, the second device it has created in collaboration with Porsche Design. For reference, the first was the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design, which the company launched for an eye-watering €2,699 in the Eurozone and £2,349.99 in the UK. Like the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design, the Magic6 RSR has already received an initial Chinese release, where it remains available for CNY 9,999 (~1,381).
On the face of it, the Magic6 RSR remains unchanged for its global release. As such, the device features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 5,600 mAh silicon carbon battery that supports 66 W wireless and 80 W wired charging. Additionally, the Magic6 RSR utilises 50 MP primary (1/1.3-inch), 50 MP ultra-wide-angle, 180 MP telephoto (1/1.49-inch) and 50 MP front-facing cameras, the latter of which sits beneath a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED and 2,800 x 1,280-pixel display.
Given that the Magic6 RSR is CNY 6,000 (~$829) cheaper than the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design in China, it should come as no surprise to learn that a similar price difference exists globally. Nonetheless, the Magic6 RSR retails for £1,599, which would make even the Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) blush. With that being said, the Magic6 RSR only comes with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, which surpasses Samsung's current generation flagship in this regard.
