Honor has now confirmed that it will launch a smartphone that combines the new top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite platform with its brand's "strongest" rear cameras before the end of the year.
The upcoming RSR is also now officially slated to have a Porsche Design rear panel much like that of its predecessor, albeit with the upgraded 200MP periscope zoom of the Magic7 Pro.
The Magic7 RSR was also thought to boast a tandem OLED display (like that of the latest iPad Pro, now starting at $899 on Amazon) for improved power-efficiency and brightness - however, that might not be the case, according to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.
The smartphone's latest renders suggest that it will have the same dual punch-hole selfie camera as the 7 Pro, thereby hinting that the 2 devices have the exact same display. That panel is an impressively bright up-to-5,000 nit 120Hz LTPO panel in any case.
The tipster also asserts that the new RSR will be available in just 2 RAM/storage SKUs, although they will apparently offer a choice between going with a top-end 16GB/512GB configuration and maxing out with an even more premium 24GB/1TB variant.
The Magic7 RSR will star as the main event of Honor's Imaging Technology Conference, now scheduled for December 23, 2024 in China.
