Honor has beaten super-flagship smartphones such as the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to the punch with the Magic7 RSR in China today (December 23, 2024).
It has the same premium 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display driven by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC as its 7 Pro sibling, covered in the OEM's own Giant Rhino Glass.
The Magic7 RSR and 7 Pro also have the same advanced rear cameras - except that the newer model has a 200MP 3x optical periscope zoom camera with an f-stop of 1.88 rather than 2.6.
The RSR also has Honor's extra-large new 5,850mAh silicon-carbon battery and the OEM's latest, AI-enhanced MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15.
The Magic7 RSR starts at 7,999 yuan (~$1,096) with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, or 8,999 yuan (~$1,233) for an even higher-end 24GB/1TB configuration, both of which are available in Porsche-derived Provence Purple or Agate Gray. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra now starts at $949.99 on Amazon
