Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly get a RAM bump
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has leaked extensively over the past weeks, with leaked renders and reports painting a pretty clear picture of what to expect from Samsung’s 2025 flagship. While we're still weeks away from an official launch, a fresh report has revealed key information about the Galaxy S25 Ultra's storage and memory situation.
According to tipster @jukanlosreve on X, Samsung will offer three storage configurations for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The base model will start at 12GB RAM and 256GB storage—just like the last year. However, the 512GB and 1TB models will reportedly bump the RAM to 16GB. If this tip is accurate, Samsung is looking to position the top variants as a more attractive proposition—likely to convince buyers to shell out more money. It also makes sense from a competitive point of view as the likes of Pixel 9 Pro and OnePlus 13 already offer 16GB RAM.
The latest leak is in line with a previous report from IceUniverse which claimed the Galaxy S25 Ultra "will definitely have a 16GB RAM version." The Galaxy S20 Ultra was the first Samsung device to pack up to 16GB RAM and the Galaxy S21 Ultra followed in similar footsteps. The option was removed from the subsequent generations, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and S24 Ultra all topping out at 12GB RAM.
Samsung has yet to confirm an official launch date for the Galaxy S25 series, but we're told the company might hold the Unpacked event on January 22.
