A few months have now passed since Samsung released the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 with Intel's Core Ultra 7 256V and Core Ultra 7 258V processors. Now, the company has presented its second Intel Lunar Lake laptop, albeit not in full just yet. Instead, it has revealed initial details about what it describes as the 'Galaxy Book5 Pro' in a Korean language press release.
For example, Samsung claims to have equipped the device with Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2), which should be the Core Ultra 7 256V or Core Ultra 7 258V like the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 (curr. $1,599.99 on Amazon). Theoretically, the Galaxy Book5 Pro should be thinner and lighter than its convertible counterpart. However, Samsung has not confirmed whether that is the case yet.
Nonetheless, Samsung has outlined that the Galaxy Book5 Pro will be available in 14-inch or 16-inch sizes, both with AMOLED displays. Moreover, these high-resolution panels will be coated with anti-reflective coating to reduce glare. Furthermore, the Galaxy Book5 Pro is said to last up to 25 hours on a single charge; Samsung makes the same claim about the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, though.
Meanwhile, the images shared so far confirm that the 16-inch variant will feature a dedicated number pad, as well as an off-centre trackpad. On top of that, the same variant will ship with a 3.5 mm jack, a MicroSD card reader, a full-sized HDMI port, two USB Type-C connections and a USB Type-A port when it officially debuts in South Korea on January 2, 2025. Unfortunately, a global release date remains unknown for now.
