As we reported earlier today, Samsung's Germany customer support channel revealed that the One UI 7 beta update would roll out today, and this report turned out to be accurate as Samsung has just made the Android 15 beta update official. It's currently available to the Galaxy S24 series, but the company hints that other eligible devices will get the beta update in the future.
To get the One UI 7 beta update, Galaxy S24 users would need to join the beta program through Samsung Members. However, note that the Android 15 beta update is currently available in India, Korea, Germany, Poland, the US, and the UK. The company hasn't revealed whether more regions will be added to this list.
Regarding the new features in One UI 7 beta, among the main highlights is a redesigned camera app. With a redesigned UX, Samsung aims to offer more intuitive control over the camera settings. For those who rely on the Pro modes, there's a new zoom control available, which makes it easier to get smooth transitions.
Next is the enhanced AI-backed features, and there are a lot of them. With One UI 7, Samsung has integrated "powerful" writing assist tools, which can check spelling and grammar, summarize content, and automatically format notes. This new Android 15 beta update also brings upgraded call features, including call transcripts.
Lastly, there are customization features, with the main highlight being the new lock screen. It now has something that Samsung calls Now Bar, which highlights activities from Music, Stopwatch, and other apps. The update also introduces a simplified home screen with redesigned widgets. You can check these new additions in action from the video attached below.
