Honor launched the Magic V3 last July. At launch, it was the world’s thinnest foldable phone, measuring only 9.2mm when folded. However, the title of the thinnest foldable has been overtaken by the Oppo Find N5, which measures 8.9mm in folded position.
The specifications and release of the Honor Magic V4 have not been disclosed officially. However, a new leak (via GSMArena) has surfaced online revealing key details of the smartphone. In terms of thickness, the leak suggests the phone will be under 9mm in its folded position.
The leaked camera specifications suggest that Honor may differentiate its upcoming foldable offering with an advanced camera setup, especially with a better telephoto lens. It is tipped to come with a 50MP 1/1.5" primary sensor. It may feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4" type sensor and 3x optical zoom. For comparison, the Oppo Find N5 has a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/2.75" type sensor. Meanwhile, another popular foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, has just a 10MP telephoto lens.
The cover display of the Honor Magic V4 is tipped to be around 6.45 inches, and the inner display could be 8 inches. The flagship foldable phone is likely to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It could use the watered-down version of the processor with 7 cores, similar to the one used in the Oppo Find N5. Do note that all this information is based on a leak, so the actual specifications may differ. The Magic V4 is expected to launch around June.
