Vivo V30 SE brings so-called Modern Design, Android 14 and 50MP main camera to new market
Vivo has gone for almost Redmi-like complexity in the naming scheme for its new cross-market product, as it now completes a trinity of identical devices with different names depending on where it is sold.
Accordingly, while India has the Y200e, and its European division has the V40 SE, Vivo South America has been graced with its own (slightly confusing) name for that same smartphone.
The V30 SE does indeed have the same specs as India's "first Eco-Fiber Leather Smartphone", albeit with the same Diamond Black and Violet Leather colorways as the V40 SE.
By whatever name or finish, its hype as a Modern Design device is more or less borne out in that it has flat edges to go with its flat 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display. Then again, you only have to look at the 'real' V30 series to realize that the SE has last year's camera hump.
Nevertheless, it still boasts an "Ultra HD Imaging System" with a 50MP main shooter. Regardless, the smartphone shares the budget Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 platform with its identical siblings.
Vivo has yet to outline pricing for the 8GB RAM/256GB internal storage V30 SE; for reference, it currently starts at €363.70 (~$389) as the 40 SE with the same specs elsewhere.
