vivo V30 debuts as first Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 smartphone with global availability
The vivo V30 has made its debut as the first smartphone featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor for the international markets. It’s the Honor 100 that holds the position of the world’s first smartphone with the CPU, but the device is still exclusive to China. Qualcomm announced the SoC in November of last year, and it’s positioned between the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. It’s fabbed on the 4 nm TSMC process and packs 1+3+4 CPU configuration with one prime, three performance, and four efficiency cores.
Besides being the first international smartphone with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, the vivo V30 is also the first global phone to feature the new Omnivision OV50E camera. It’s a 50 MP sensor with a size of 1/1.55-inch with OIS and is the primary camera on the back. The secondary camera is a 50 MP ultrawide with autofocus.
On the front, the V30 houses a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus. It sits in a centered punch hole of the 6.78-inch AMOLED screen. Speaking of the display, it’s a 1260p panel with 2800 nits of peak brightness rating, curved edges, and HDR10+ support. There’s a fingerprint scanner underneath the screen.
In terms of the battery, the vivo V30 has a 5000 mAh cell with support for the 80W FlashCharge. Other highlights of the phone include Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 on top, up to 12 GB of RAM, and a max storage capacity of 512 GB. Pricing details are yet to be confirmed, but the device will be available in more than 30 regions.
