Vivo Y200e officially set to launch as India's inaugural Eco-Fiber Leather smartphone
Our prediction that the Vivo Y200e would launch as a new Android smartphone soon have just been validated by the OEM as its latest teaser campaign gets underway. However, it seems this one will proceed without the Aura Light flash of the current series flagship...called it.
The Y200e seems to pack a third rear shooter in the brand's last-gen traffic-light camera hump instead, however. Then again, Vivo already seems intent on hyping "style" over hardware here, as suggested by its new selling point: Eco-Fiber Leather.
The "durable" new material is slated to be available in orange plaid or navy diamond patterns on the back of its inaugural smartphone. Vivo has yet to specify what it is actually made of; however, the brand already boasts that it is robust enough to survive a 500-cycle "Denim Roller with Quartz Sand" test as well as 48 hours of "Salt Spray" exposure.
Eco-Fiber Leather can also apparently be splashed with coffee, red wine or dragon-fruit juice without staining, so long as those fluids are wiped off within 24 hours. It will be introduced to the Indian market along with the rest of the Y200e on February 22, 2024.
