iQOO's latest smartphone comes with particularly high levels of influence from the brand's parent company Vivo, to the extent that it already has a twin under a different name on the Indian market. However, the new version will get to be the cheaper of the two on its upcoming release to Amazon, with new colorways to boot.

iQOO'S Z9 series of Android smartphones has a new member - however, anyone hoping for the flagship looks or performance of the Turbo model might be disappointed in its new Lite sibling.

The brand touts it as being a "Fully Loaded" 5G device nonetheless, albeit with a waterdrop-notched HD+ LCD display driven by the Dimensity 6300 SoC, 6GB of RAM and a very standard 5,000mAh battery. However, its rear camera hump with a 50MP main sensor is what really gives it away as a rebrand of the Vivo Y28s 5G.

The Z9 Lite does come with more of a Vivo V-series finish from the back, in new Mocha Brown and Aqua Blue colorways - with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box, at least.

Furthermore, it is to be unleashed on Amazon.in from July 20, 2024 for as little as INR 9,999 (~$120, with bank rebates), as opposed to INR 15,499 (~$186) for the the Y28s 5G with the same specs at the time of writing.
