Vivo has introduced the Y77 5G, a mid-range smartphone launched in China ahead of a Malaysian release. Launched for CNY 1,299 (~US$195), the Vivo Y77 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of expandable storage, among other features. The Vivo Y77 5G ships with Android 12, too.

Vivo has unveiled the Y77 5G, a follow-up to last year's Y76 5G and Y76s. Despite being the successor to the Y76 series, the Y77 5G relies on the same MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset as the Y76s. Hence, the Y77 5G has two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores at its disposal, plus six Cortex-A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. For reference, the Dimensity 810 offers significantly less performance than the newer Dimensity 8100, while also trailing the Dimensity 900 by just over 10%.

Separately, the Y77 5G has a 6.58-inch IPS display that operates at 2,408 x 1,080 pixels within a 164 x 75.84 x 8.25 mm and 194 g chassis. Additionally, the device has 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of expandable storage and a 5,000 mAh battery that it can recharge at 18 W. Meanwhile, Vivo has included a 16 MP front-facing camera, plus 50 MP and 2 MP rear-facing sensors that serve as its primary and macro cameras, respectively.

At launch, Vivo has priced the Y77 5G at CNY 1,299 (~US$195) in China. However, the company is expected to unveil the smartphone in Malayasia too, although it is unclear when. Listed on its English-speaking website too, the smartphone arrives in Glowing Galaxy and Starlight Black colour options with Funtouch OS 12.0 based on Android 12.
