In May, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus, a pair of smartphones that relied on the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and a 144 Hz display, among other features. Released in China, Xiaomi has not announced either smartphone in any other market yet. However, it has now confirmed that it will unveil the Redmi K50i series in India later this month.
Specifically, Xiaomi will unleash the Redmi K50i series on July 20. So far, Xiaomi has only teased the Redmi K50i series on its Indian social media channels, implying that the series will be an Indian exclusive. Although Xiaomi has not stated this yet, the Redmi K50i is the spitting image of the Redmi Note 11T Pro. Surprisingly, the company is marketing the Redmi K50i series in the same colour option that it already offers the Redmi Note 11T Pro, leaving no one under any illusions that the former is a new smartphone.
Accordingly, the Redmi K50i series should also feature a 6.6-inch IPS display operating at 1080p with three rear-facing cameras and a single front-facing sensor. For reference, the Redmi Note 11T Pro utilises a 5,080 mAh battery and 67 W charging, compared to the 4,400 mAh battery and 120 W charging that the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus supports.
Separately, MySmartPrice alleges that the Redmi K50i series will launch for approximately INR 26,999 (~US$341) with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Additionally, there should be an 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage option for INR 31,999 (~US$404). Reputedly, both configurations will be available in Phantom Blue, Stealth Black and Quick Silver colour options, all orderable from July 22.
