Huawei has released another update for the Watch FIT 2, less than a month after the previous one arrived. As we reported in June, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.128 featured a few changes, including a new feature of being able to respond to messages from third-party apps. Additionally, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.128 enabled Petal Maps on the Watch FIT 2, albeit not when you pair the fitness tracker to an iOS device.
This time, Huawei has started rolling out HarmonyOS 2.1.0.133, approximately a 260 MB download through the Huawei Health app. Please note that you can only update a Huawei wearable through the company's accompanying smartphone app, unlike Garmin. Seemingly issued in multiple markets, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.133 enables music controls on the Watch FIT 2 when paired to an iPhone.
Moreover, Huawei claims to have optimised Bluetooth connectivity, while also introducing new status icons. Furthermore, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.133 allegedly improves the UI in some areas, as well as optimising system stability. For context, the Watch FIT 2 has a 1.74-inch AMOLED display, making it one of the larger fitness trackers on the market. Launched in May, the Watch FIT 2 retails from €149.99 in the Eurozone, where it is available in three styles.
