Huawei MateBook X Pro 2022 launches with Intel Alder Lake-P processors and a skin-soothing metallic body option
Huawei has refreshed the MateBook X Pro, now called the MateBook X Pro 2022. Equipped with a 14.2-inch display, the MateBook X Pro 2022 operates natively at 3,120 x 2,080 pixels with a 264 PPI and a 3:2 aspect ratio while delivering up to 500 nits of brightness. Additionally, the display offers a 90 Hz refresh rate, a 1,500:1 contrast ratio, Delta E <1 deviations and ten-point touch input.
Predictably, Huawei has equipped the MateBook X Pro 2022 with Intel Alder Lake-P processors. Specifically, the company offers the MateBook X Pro 2022 with the Core i5-1240P or the Core i7-1260P, both with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of PCIe storage. Seemingly, all configurations will ship with a 60 Wh battery, which helps the laptop measure 310 x 221 x 15.5 mm and weigh 1.38 kg. Alternatively, Huawei will sell a 'skin-soothing metallic body' option that is 15.6 mm thick and weighs 12.6 kg.
Separately, the MateBook X Pro 2022 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports on its left-hand side and two USB Type-C ports on its right-hand side. Apparently, all ports support charging, data transfer and DisplayPort output, negating the need to connect the laptop to an external monitor via its 3.5 mm jack too. Unfortunately, Huawei has not confirmed whether it will launch the MateBook X Pro 2022 outside China. However, the laptop will be available in Huawei's home market for the following prices:
- Intel Core i5-1240P/16 GB of RAM/512 GB SSD: CNY 8,999 (~US$1,330)
