That value was higher than the US$739 launch price of this processor. However, the aforementioned source also reveals that the average Amazon price since April 5, 2022 (based on the last 50 price changes during this period) is US$631.21. Now, a 20% discount brings it down to US$411.99 (from a previous Amazon list price value of US$512.99).
Compared to the older, cheaper, and more popular Intel Core i9-12900K, the Intel Core i9-12900KS has higher clock speeds, a higher base TDP (150 W vs. 125 W), as well as higher cooling demands. The maximum turbo power is the same for both chips (241 W). Both processors also use the same integrated graphics solution, namely Intel UHD Graphics 770. In most benchmarks, the 12900KS is roughly 5% faster than its non-S sibling (without taking any overclocking scenarios into account).
